Govia Thameslink Railway has announced that the improvements to the Thameslink Saturday timetable in spring will provide passengers who use stations between West Hampstead and Luton with up to two more trains every hour to and from London.
Direct services to and from North Kent will also commence.
This will increase connectivity to Luton Airport on Saturdays for the entire Thameslink network.
Starting on Saturday the 23rd of May, Thameslink’s half-hourly service between Kentish Town and Rainham will be extended to Luton and will be calling at West Hampstead, Mill Hill Broadway, Elstree & Borehamwood, Radlett, St Albans, Harpenden and Luton Airport Parkway.
What did the officials say?
Thameslink Managing Director Tom Moran said:
“These extended services will give thousands of our passengers a more frequent Saturday service to and from central London, improve our service for travellers using Luton Airport, and provide more weekend travel options on direct trains to popular destinations such as Greenwich.”

Will Thameslink in the future could expand their network much further such as East Grinstead, Ashford International, Faversham, Maidstone East and/or Maidstone West, Canterbury East and/or Canterbury West, Tonbridge, Tunbridge Wells, Lewis, Hastings, Eastbourne and Kings Lynn. And possibly to extend from Bedford to Wellingborough and Kettering once the electrification on the Midland Main Line north of Bedford to Kettering is completed.
