Rail users at Leeds were given a four-legged fillip today as part of a partnership between rail operator Northern and Pets As Therapy.
Around 10 canines took to the concourse and gave passengers the chance to stroke, tickle and pet them, all part of Blue Monday.
There was no shortage of visitors to the special Pets as Therapy area with hundreds of people stopping by to pamper the pooches.
Pets As Therapy is a national charity that enhances health and wellbeing in the community through the visits of trusted volunteers and their behaviourally assessed PAT Pets.
What did the officials say?
Steve Hopkinson, Regional Director at Northern, said:
“We had a feeling the dogs would be popular, but had no inkling that so many people would come along to say hello.
“Not only were we able to put a smile on the faces of lots of customers, we were also able to highlight the fantastic work of Pets as Therapy.”
