Network Rail has announced that it is inviting users of Wellingborough station to find out more about improvements taking place as part of the Midland Main Line Upgrade.
Since October, Network Rail has been working to construct a new platform at the station. This will allow longer trains with more seats to call there.
Network Rail will fully refurbish the canopies at the station and carry out work to the Goods Shed. Once complete, the Goods Shed will become a through route for passengers from platform 1.
Network Rail is working closely with the Borough Council of Wellingborough, Historic England and the Railway Heritage Trust to make sure the work is in keeping with the Grade II listed building.
All of the work will complete by Spring 2020.
Network Rail is holding a public information event on Tuesday, 28 January for people wanting to find out more about the project. This will take place at Wellingborough station between 15:00 and 18:00.
Anyone who cannot make the event but wishes to find out more, should call the Network Rail National Helpline on 03457 11 41 41 or visit the Network Rail website.
