The 134 Restoration Project has released a short update from work completed on their first working party of 2020 on NG15 134.

The main tasks completed during the first weekend were the fitting of the new running plates. This is a task that the project had been working on part-time for a number of working parties.

However, this time, most of the volunteers were involved with one group cutting and shaping and another group fixing them in place.

The group is using the same technique as used on the NGG17s where bolts are countersunk into the plate for a neater appearance.

Alongside this, the group have continued with lubrication pipework, this time work has been associated with the lubricator for the Krauss-Helmholtz truck and for the steam oil lubrication for the cylinders and slide bars.

The second coat has been added to the cylinder covers as the damp weather was starting to get the better of the single coat.

This time a second coat was added to the cylinder covers as the damp humidity was starting to get the better of the single coat already applied!

The next working party is now the 22nd and 23rd of February.
