ScotRail have announced that from the 17th of November to the 7th of December, 84.4% of trains met the rail industry standard public performance measure.
This is a new high due to the Autumn period being difficult due to leaves on the line.
This is because rapid response crews were based in areas where disruptions were common, so services ran smoothly, with more than 700,000 trains meeting their punctuality target in 2019.
More Class 385s have been introduced, and the Class 314s have been removed from service, improving passenger comfort and quality, and a new station has been opened.
What did the officials say?
Alex Hynes, Managing Director of Scotland’s Railway, said:
“Everyone across Scotland’s Railway has worked tirelessly to deliver a more stable, reliable, and robust service during this challenging time of year, and it’s encouraging to see that we delivered the best autumn performance in five years.”
“The fact that more trains than ever before have ran on time shows the impact of the unprecedented investment in Scotland’s Railway to give customers the service they expect and deserve.”

Since it was announced last week that the contract will be ended sooner than thought. The Fife Circle has been a nightmare
Clearly didn’t include the Fife loop in their calculations, that same period for Fife commuters was a complete nightmare. Badly organised timetable changes, consistently late, cancelled and shortened trains, no investment, same old dirty broken trains while the rest of the network gets new ones. Bye bye Alex Hynes
This is because trains are either cancelled or skip stations to ensure they stay on time. They are most unrealible train company ever, completely useless. It feels like every day there is a reason why I can’t get to work from my local station and have to drive to a different station just so I can get a train to work because I cannot trust them to serve my area and local train station correctly.
Make the most of what Abellio ScotRail has to offer before they end in March 2022. Sad that the Class 314 are not around anymore. And hopefully 10 more Class 385s will be built before the franchise ends.
