Over on the Priest Abnormal Load Service Facebook page, it has been confirmed that 46100 Royal Scot is heading to the Severn Valley Railway.

For around a year now, 46100 Royal Scot has been in the workshop undergoing a bottom end overhaul at Locomotive Services Ltd workshop in Crewe.

Now, however, the locomotive is heading from Crewe to the Severn Valley Railway, in Bridgnorth.

It is currently unknown why it is heading there, but our guess is that it is heading to the heritage railway for testing and running in, and from there, the locomotive will head back to Crewe via the mainline – undergoing a mainline light engine test run.

It is also not known how long 46100 will be staying at the Severn Valley Railway.

This will make the second mainline steam locomotive to be stabled at the heritage railway, with A1 No. 60163 Tornado currently stabled in Bridgnorth ahead of her public services later this month.

At the minute, the SVR has not said whether the locomotive will haul public services, but if there is confirmation of this, then we will let you know as soon as possible!
