The Nene Valley Railway have announced that Austerity No.3193’s hire period has been extended until the end of 2020.

Arriving at Wansford Station back in June 2019, 3193 received some work and running in to complete the tank’s overhaul before entering traffic on NVR.
Currently, the engine is undergoing some repairs but is planned to be back in service for the NVR’s Winter Light Spectacular trains, which starts on Friday 13th of December 2019.
Winter Light Spectacular trains
Running for a number of evenings throughout December 2019 and January 2020, the Winter Light Spectacular train takes you on a journey along the Nene Valley Railway, with the train’s lights lighting up the countryside. Along the trip music will be played to add to the magical atmosphere. The train runs on the following times and dates:
December 2019Â
- 5pm to 7pm – Friday 13th
- 7pm to 8.30pm – Saturday
- 5pm to 9pm – Wednesday
- 5pm to 9pm – Friday 20th
- 5pm to 9pm – Friday 27th
- 5pm to 9pm – Saturday 28th
January 2020
- 5pm to 7.30pm – Wednesday 1st
- 5pm to 9.30pm – Friday 3rd
- 5pm to 9.30pm – Saturday 4th
- 5pm to 9.30pm – Thursday 9th
- 5pm to 9.30pm – Friday 10th
- 5pm to 9.30pm – Saturday 11th
