ScotRail has announced that it is adding more seats to train services for Scotland‘s Euro 2020 qualifier against Kazakhstan at Hampden Park on Tuesday, 19 November 2019.
The train operator ScotRail is now adding additional carriages to trains that are running on routes to and from Glasgow Central including routes to and from East Kilbride, Gourock and Paisley Canal.
There will also be more seats now available on trains running between Glasgow Central and Mount Florida, which is, in fact, the closest station to Hampden Park.
Customers are advised that services running will be busier than they are normal and that the queuing systems may be put in place at Glasgow Central station before the game, and at Mount Florida station after the game.
To help fans arrive at the stadium on time for the games 7.45 pm timed kick-off, they should allow extra time for travel – as well as purchasing tickets for travel in advance to avoid additional queuing on the day.
After the final whistle of the game, supporters are encouraged to head back to Mount Florida as fast as possible and join the queues on Bolton Drive.
Customers are asked to take this queuing system into account when they are planning journeys home from the match.
ScotRail will have extra staff on the ground to assist customers.
What did the officials say?
Phil Campbell, ScotRail Head of Customer Operations, said:
“We’ll be adding more seats to help fans get to the game, but customers should plan their journeys in advance, and make sure they buy their tickets to Mount Florida before they board.
“Regular commuters who travel home from Glasgow on the line via Mount Florida should be aware that services will be busier than normal with fans heading to the match.”
