Network Rail is now inviting residents to a drop-in event being held in order to find out more information about essential maintenance work going on at Pembroke Tunnel which is in west Wales, which will improve the resilience and reliability of the railway for passengers.
This work includes essential vegetation management and rock netting within the area with the work taking place for a week in the month of December before the main work takes place in January and February.
Ahead of this work residents are invited to attend a drop-in event that is being held on Monday the 18th of November from 3 pm to 6.30 pm at the Dutton Suite, Pembroke Leisure Centre, Bush, Pembroke, SA71 4RJ.
No appointments are necessary for this event and members of the project team will be on hand at the event to answer any questions those that attend have to ask.
Then between Saturday the 14th and Friday the 20th December Network Rail will carry out drilling work overnight to install rock anchors at the top of the railway cutting as Network Rail prepare for the main phase of the works.
That will then take place between Sunday the 19th of January 2020 and Saturday the 8th of February 2020 where engineers will work throughout the day and the night in order to install rock anchors and bolts before then installing the rock netting across the railway cutting using road-rail vehicles and specialist machinery.
