Thameslink has announced that they are introducing two through-London train services every hour between Peterborough and Horsham on Saturdays as part of its Winter timetable.
These extra trains will begin to operate from the 21st December 2019.
This introduction will increase the number of services to St Pancras International station, central London and Gatwick Airport. This introduction of new train services will help to allow passengers to male the most of their weekends.
Peterborough, Huntingdon, St Neots, Sandy, Biggleswade and Arlesey will have a direct train service to Gatwick Airport on Saturdays for the first time.
Cross-London train services to Gatwick from Stevenage, Hitchin and Finsbury Park will triple to three an hour.
Cross-London services to Gatwick from Hitchin, Stevenage and Finsbury Park will triple to three trains per hour.
Central London stations between St Pancras and London Blackfriars will also see an increase in trains from 11 to 13 per hour in each direction.
The train operator is creating new cross-London train services by linking existing Peterborough to London King’s Cross train services with the London Bridge to Horsham train services through central London via London St Pancras and Blackfriars.
Sunday, 15th December 2019 will see the changes introduced.
In addition to the above improvements, changes will also include the more weekday peak Great Northern trains that call at New Southgate and Oakleigh Park.
Additionally, from 16 December, until summer 2020, most weekend and late evening train services that run in and out of Moorgate will start and finish at King’s Cross instead. The reasoning for this is to allow Network Rail to carry out maintenance and cleaning of the Northern City Line tunnels.

Tom Moran, Managing Director for Thameslink and Great Northern, said:
“We are delighted to be introducing these improvements for our passengers, because we know there has been strong demand for them. This will provide more travel opportunities for existing and potential new passengers.”

New Horsham service is waste of time if it still takes 1 hr 16 min to London Bridge. Far too slow needs to take 45 min then people might use it.
Perhaps Thameslink could introduce new services to Reigate, Tonbridge, Ashford International, Lewis, Eastbourne, Hastings, Epsom, Caterham, Tattenham Corner and East Grinstead from Bedford, Luton, St. Albans City, Cambridge and Peterborough.
As they serve destinations in the Southeast including Brighton, Gatwick Airport, Horsham, Rainham, Gillingham, Orpington, Gravesend, Sevenoaks, Rochester, Sutton and Wimbledon. And could extend to Faversham, Maidstone and Canterbury.
