The Perrygrove Railway has announced that Lister locomotive is up for sale.

The lister rail truck is up for sale to allow their new build project to progress. It was one of the locomotives built for the light industry and was often found in peat works or factories where they were rugged yet lightweight.

This lister locomotive has been regauged from 2′ down to 15″ but can easily be put back to 2′.

The lister locomotive that is being built off the back of the sale is based on the chassis of Hunslet Jenbach. These are more powerful than the lister and will allow the railway to run 4-coach trains when steam is not available.

Selling the locomotive means that the railway can make progress on the new locomotive project next year.
