The Gloucestershire Warwickshire Steam Railway has announced the last running day for GWR goods locomotive, 2807, before its 10-year overhaul.
The locomotive will bow out of service on Wednesday 1st Jan 2020.
After this date, her boiler certificate will expire and will mean she can no longer steam.
However, the group looking after 2807 have said that 2807 will steam again after overhaul – great news for fans of this lovely locomotive.
At the end of their 10 years in steam, locomotives need to be stripped down to the little individual pieces so that everything can be inspected, repaired and cleaned.
Once this is all done, and the necessary tests complete, 2807 will be able to return to passenger service.

Thought you might like to correct a spelling error:
‘necessary’, not ‘neccassary’
Hi Danielle,
Thanks for this – we have had a few problems over the last couple of days with the spellchecker and grammar checking software.
I have now corrected this 🙂
