The Pontypool and Blaenavon Railway has announced that a Class 37 has arrived at their workshops.
BR Class 37 No. 37023 has a new owner, with the new owner choosing the Pontypool and Blaenavon Railway as its new home railway.
The locomotive was accepted into the yard on 26th October after a very long wet trundle down on the 25th.
The plan is for the locomotive to be overhauled and will haul passengers once again at the Pontypool & Blaenavon Railway.

Looked at the history of this engine it was based at March in Cambridgeshire, which in turn meant my dad who is no longer with us would have driven this engine, emotional to know it’s just down the road from me now,
Nice to see a ‘tractor’ 70,s icon avoiding the cutters torch, will be a good day to see this restored to its former glory, big thumbs up well done
