Glasgow Central station and Network Rail is encouraging passengers to show their generosity this Thursday by donating clothes and toiletries to the Glasgow City Mission.
On 21st November, a donation drive is being held on the main concourse of the station and passengers and railway staff are being asked to contribute what they can.
Glasgow City Mission works with vulnerable groups in the city, including those facing homelessness or living in poverty.
With a footfall of over 100,000 passengers every day, the Central station team are confident they will once again see a huge response of Glasgow’s commuters.
The list of items that Glasgow City Mission needs includes:
- Shower gel
- Spray deodorant
- Shaving foam
- Disposable razors
- Men’s boxer shorts
- Men’s and women’s socks
What did the officials say?
Drew Burns, Network Rail station manager for Central, said:
“Our passengers are always quick to support the charities we host in the station and we hope they will donate to the important work of the Glasgow City Mission.
“Even a small donation of toiletries or clothing will be gratefully received and put to good use supporting the more vulnerable members of our community.”
