Passengers using the can now drop off parcels at stations across the GTR network.

Automated lockers are being installed at 11 stations for item pickup and returns from Asos, JD, French Connection, TOMs and Schuh.

Passengers can choose a local locker to collect their parcels from. Once the parcel has been delivered to the locker, customers are sent a QR code by SMS and email. They then scan the code at the locker to open the door.

What did the officials say?

GTR’s Senior Business Development Manager Anna Kiddle said:

“It takes less than 10 seconds to pick a parcel up, and the new lockers should really help our customers to arrange deliveries in a more flexible way. The company’s aim is also to be sustainable and environmentally friendly by encouraging the use of these lockers, diverting use away from single delivery drop-offs to houses.”

InPost Chief Executive Jason Tavaria said:

“We are delighted to work in partnership with Govia Thameslink Railway offering convenient and greener delivery, available 24/7 to help people get on with their daily lives without having to worry about delivery.”
