Two projects that form part of the government-sponsored Thameslink Programme costing £7bn has been shortlisted for the Exceptional Achievement Awards (EEA) by CEEQUAL.
These two projects are the Bermondsey Dive Under, in the category of Ecology and Biodiversity and the reconstruction of London Bridge station, in the categories of Carbon, Heritage and Effect on Neighbours.
Both of these projects have received excellent ratings in CEEQUAL’s process. The Bermondsey Dive Under received a whole project award of 96.6% and the London Bridge station project received a whole team award of 97.3%.
The CEEQUAL Exceptional Achievement Awards showcase and reward project teams who have pioneered innovation and have clearly demonstrated the pinnacle best practice in a specific area on the project. The awards are to celebrate exceptional achievement within a specific topic so the project’s overall CEEQUAL assessment score is not taken into consideration due to this.
CEEQUAL is the evidence-based sustainability assessment, rating, and awards scheme for civil engineering, infrastructure, landscaping and the public realm project. The scheme in fact operates alongside BREEAM – bringing together the world’s leading sustainability assessment methods for buildings, master planning, and infrastructure.

Both the Dive Under and the new London Bridge station play important roles within the wider Thameslink Programme which has transformed north-south travel through London, dramatically improving millions of passenger journeys each year.”

London Bridge station as it’s been redeveloped looks a lot better than it was before.

This did make me laugh, thameslink have been ruining my life since taking over the Bedford to Brighton line, where they began as they meant to go on, forgetting they needed train drivers for the trains.
