Greater Anglia and Cambridgeshire Police are hosting a series of safety and information events at Cambridge station’s cycle point, and offering theft prevention advice, registering cycles, and reminding customers how they can report any issues.
The events will be held at the Cambridge cycle point on:
- Thursday 7 November from 16.00-19.00
- Wednesday 27 November from 10.00-16.00
Cambridge cycle point is open all day, every day, providing free safe and secure parking in the largest facility of its type at a UK rail station, with 2,850 cycle parking spaces over three floors, which are covered by a large network of CCTV cameras and patrolled every four hours.
What did the officials say?
Mike Barry, Greater Anglia‘s Area Customer Service Manager, said:
“Cambridge station cycle point is used by thousands of people every day.
“We take customer feedback very seriously, and although the number of thefts remains low, we are doing all we can to reduce the number.
“We are committed to providing secure, free cycle parking across our network and have recently been awarded £1.1 million from the Department for Transport’s Cycle Rail Programme and local authorities to further improve cycle parking, including CCTV and better lighting at stations.”
