The East Somerset Railway has released an update on the overhaul of 5239 Goliath, which is approaching completion.

The final assembly work is now taking place on the locomotive.

Jake, Tom and Jack have fitted the front handrail to the smokebox. James and Phil have fitted the manifold in the cab.

The connecting rods have been fitted, and piston bump stop clearances have been checked.

Chris has fitted the steam heat valve to the manifold too.

Steve has fitted new copper pipes to one of the cab oil pots.
