The Severn Valley Railway has announced that 30541 will be visiting them for their Autumn Steam Gala.
The unique-surviving Q Class is the third visiting engine that will appear with already confirmed No. 34092 City of Wells and Standard 4 No. 76017.
The gala will take place from September 19th-22nd.
The Q class was the last of Richard Maunsell’s loco designs. The meaning of the Q class was too produce a modern, simple replacement for some elderly pre-grouping locos that were being used for light goods/mixed traffic work. Only 20 were built between 1938/39 and 30541 is the sole survivor.
The home-fleet will include 1450, 1501, 2857, 7714, 34027 Taw Valley, 43106 and 75069, as well as 4144 and former resident No. 6960 Raveningham Hall.
30541 will be visiting the Severn Valley Railway thanks to the Bluebell Railway.
