Network Rail is reminding residents in West Yorkshire of a public consultation about proposed railway upgrades begins next week.
The public are being encouraged to have their say on plans to upgrade a section of the Transpennine route between Huddersfield and Westtown (Dewsbury) as part of the wider Transpennine Upgrade.
Drop-in events are taking place throughout September so residents and passengers can find out more about the outline proposals.
Their views will help inform the further development of the scheme to bring a better performing railway with improved stations, more seats, more trains and faster journeys.
The events will take place on:
- Monday, 9 and Tuesday, 10 September between 12:00-20:00 at Huddersfield Mission
- Wednesday, 11 September between 12:00-20:00 at Deighton Sports Arena
- Thursday, 12 September between 12:00-20:00 at Hudawi Cultural Centre
- Saturday, 14 September between 10:00-13:30 at Bradley Park Community Centre
- Tuesday, 17 September between 12:00-20:00 at Mirfield Community Centre
- Wednesday, 18 September between 12:00-18:30 at Mirfield Community Centre
- Thursday, 19 September between 12:00-20:00 at Dewsbury West Community Centre
- Saturday, 21 September between 10:00-13:30 at Dewsbury West Community Centre
The public can share their views by sending a freepost feedback form, available to collect at one of the events, or by going online to networkrail.co.uk/transpennineengagement.
They will be available between Monday, 9 September and Friday, 25 October
