What did the officials say?
Rhiannon Hiles, Beamish’s Deputy Director, said:
We were thrilled to welcome Downton Abbey’s cast and crew to Beamish Museum for filming for the new movie.
“Our wonderful open air museum brings history to life so it was great to be included as a location for the new film and it was exciting to have some of our staff and period vehicles involved.

Well I Must Say … Beamish have kept this quiet.
They (Beamish of course) must be honoured yet privileged to have participated into such good use of featuring in the very first feature film of Downton Abbey aye.
So Surprised to have learnt that this brilliant destination still gains the potential of being a film & tv set.
Why “surprised”? There is always some hidden item at Beamish on evert visit.
Just been to see film and the scenes filmed at museum were excellent – so lucky to have Beamish museum on our doorstep
