Steam locomotive 44871 heads North this Saturday!

44871 bursts out of Mytholmes Tunnel on the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway

LMS Stanier ‘Black Five’ 44871 will be heading North to Scotland on Saturday in preparation for the Fife Borders railtour on Sunday from Linlithgow to Tweedbank.

On Friday, 44871 made her way from Southall to Carnforth on Part 1 of her 2 part trip to Northern Scotland.

Leaving Carnforth Steamtown at 11:44, 44871 will head North along with WCML, having a brief stop in Carlisle at 13:43. Leaving Carlisle at 13:52, the locomotive will continue Northbound, stopping in Lockerbie loop for water, then stopping at Carstairs at 17:29, Coatbridge central at 18:26 and then Polmont loop at 19:08. From here, 44871 will finish her journey at Bo’ness at 20:35.
