The has announced that Burrs Country Park is up for an award.

A favourite in the local area, and the newest stop on the East Lancashire Railway, Burrs has been nominated for The Fields in Trust UK’s Best Park 2019.

For those yet to visit, the park is a lovely place, a mix of open space and woodland, rivers, ponds and canals.

Its simple to get to on the train too, with the trains running right past the park itself.

Its even easier if you have a caravan or motorhome, as the Caravan and Motorhome Club even have their own site there!

  1. I’d like to Wish the whole of the Enterprising East Lancashire Railway and it’s Brilliant Burrs Country Park halt (or station whichever) 100 percent Good Luck … on being up for an Award.

I do hope the this newcomer (Burrs Country Park halt) does win, after all, it’s certainly a firm favourite out there.

Cant wait to see this halt ‘in person’ when I do revisit the ELR again at some point within the foreseeable future.
