The has posted an update on the overhaul of their London, Midland and Scottish Railway 3F ‘Jinty’ No.47445.

The work is being carried out by the Princess Royal Class Locomotive Trust.

Coupled Wheels

The wheels have seen primer, undercoat and black gloss applied to them, with the axles being painted into red.

Frame

Examinations of the frame showed new metal was needed. Once the wasted steel was cut out, the remaining parts of the frame were clamped up ready for the new sections to be welded in place.

This work should be finished on Friday the 12th of July.
