The Severn Valley Railway has announced that Standard 4 No.76017 will be visiting them for their Autumn Steam Gala.
The gala will run from the 19th September until the 22nd September and will see overnight running, freight trains and an intensive timetable.
76017 will join fellow class member, 75069, and Flying Pig No.43106, in which the design of 76017 was based upon.
The locomotive’s claim to fame came in 23rd September 1954, while working the 7:00 am Banbury to Eastleigh goods; the driver lost control, and 76017 ran through the catch point and down the embankment. No-one was hurt and the engine was rescued by the Eastleigh and Fratton cranes.
You can book your tickets for this gala by clicking here.
