61306 Mayflower will be back on the mainline this Thursday as it heads for the Mid Norfolk Railway.

Departing London Liverpool Street at 11:20 the train will pass through Stratford (London) (11:36), Ilford (11:43), Chelmsford (12:19), Witham (12:29), Colchester (12:44), Ipswich (13:23), Stowmarket (13:39), Diss (13:57), and Norwich at 14:24.

From Norwich, the train will head via Trowse Swing Bridge (15:07), Wymondham (12:57) and Dereham at 16:29.

After a break at Dereham, the tour will depart, diesel hauled (with Mayflower on the rear), at 17:33, where it will then pass through Wymondham (18:33), Trowse Swing Bridge (18:50) and Norwich at 18:57.

With Mayflower back up front, the tour will depart Norwich at 19:08, where it will pass through Diss (19:33), Ipswich (20:07), Colchester (20:39), Chelmsford (21:44), Ilford (22:18), Bethnal Green (22:29) and London Liverpool Street at 22:38.

Please note: there currently is no confirmation of which direction the diesel will haul the tour. It is confirmed to be Norfolk to Dereham in ONE direction, however no confirmation of whether it is outbound or return journey. However, we expect the case to be Dereham – Norwich rather than Norwich – Dereham, however, this can change at short notice.

  1. It just chuffed by leaving Norwich … Sounded amazing and the smoke looked great ! Couldn’t see the loco as behind houses, then heard it accelerate away up to speed – lovely end to the day 😃
