ScotRail has announced that it is adding more seats for music fans attending the TRNSMT festival this weekend.
Glasgow Green will play host to the likes of Stormzy, Gerry Cinnamon, George Ezra and Lewis Capaldi on Friday 12, Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 July 2019.
The train operator will be adding extra carriages to services to and from Glasgow where possible throughout the three-day festival.
Festival-goers are advised to plan their journey in advance as trains will be very busy!
Bridgeton is the closest station to Glasgow Green, but the venue can be accessed from five stations, all within a 20-minute walk. These are Bridgeton, High Street, Glasgow Central, Glasgow Queen Street and Argyle Street station.
However, customers are reminded that Argyle Street station is closed at 5.40pm on Sundays.
ScotRail’s alcohol bans will be in force before 10 am and after 9 pm each day.
What did the officials say?
ScotRail Head of Customer Operations Phil Campbell said:
“With a fantastic line-up of artists, TRNSMT is shaping up to be an exciting event, and we’re pleased to be part of it.
“To help the festival run smoothly, we’re providing extra seats to and from the Strathclyde area, but trains are expected to be extremely busy.
“Make sure to check your train times on our website or app, and leave plenty of time for travel. Buying tickets in advance will also help reduce your need to queue.”
