Merseyrail has announced that they have installed a free water refill point at Liverpool South Parkway.
The train operator is encouraging passengers to do their bit to reduce single-use plastic by installing their first free water refill point on the network.
The water dispenser is located at Liverpool South Parkway on the main concourse. It is part of an ongoing commitment by Merseyrail to reduce waste and increase sustainability across the network.
The announcement follows news that Merseyrail will no longer automatically print receipts for passengers, this saving up to 600km of paper each year.
Free travel tickets were also handed out across Liverpool city centre in June to celebrate Clean Air Day and encourage commuters to travel by train to protect the environment and reduce carbon emissions in the city.
