The Class 40 Preservation Society has announced that the wheelsets for 40145 have arrived for fitting.

40145’s wheelsets, with new tyres fitted, have arrived at Barrow Hill.

However, there is plenty of preparation work to do before 40145 can leave Barrow Hill with its new shoes fitted.

However, with everything in 2019, these have come at a cost, and fitment and transportation costs are amounting to some £30,000.

Further invoices will be received soon for the various amounts of prep work, welding and the use of the HNRC jacks that have been undertaken so far and in the future.
