New ticket machine at Crosshill to reduce queues

ScotRail has announcd that they have installed a self-service ticket machine at Crosshill station allowing passengers to have quicker access to a variety of tickets.

As well as offering card and contactless payments, the new machine offers a range of season tickets, and tickets for journeys up to 28 days in advance.

Also having the option of buying tickets for their smartcard at home. Customers can load them on to the card with a quick tap at the machine before they travel.

The machine is equipped with touch sensitive screen technology, and the bright screen can be easily read in direct sunlight.

ScotRail Head of Customer Operations Phil Campbell said:

“Travelling by train should be simple. Our customers are increasingly looking for the convenience of ‘self-serve’ ways to buy their tickets – that’s why we’ve installed this easy to use machine.

“Whether customers are buying their ticket or loading their smartcard, the new state-of-the-art ticket machine will improve our customers’ experience and help them beat the queues at ticket gates.

“This investment will make travelling easier for our customers – it’s part of our commitment to improving station facilities across the country.”
