Crewe Community Rail Events has announced that there has been a swap in locomotive that is coming from Rail Operations Group to the upcoming Crewe Open Day 2019.
Class 47 No.47815 can no longer attend the open day, instead, they will be sending a Class 37. This is expected to be 37608.
Crewe Open Day will be held on Saturday 8th June 2019 and is now a sell-out event.
The Class 40 joins steam locomotives 70000 “Britannia”, 46100 “Royal Scot”, 34046 “Braunton” and 45231 “The Sherwood Forester” at the event.

Great lineup,from the immaculate 50s to DP2 and the sad looking 47/8s, bit cramped inside between the locos and the sales stalls-maybe a one way system would be worth a try and of course the many photographers who don’t give the rest of us the chance to enjoy the exhibits should remember we paid for tickets too. All in all a fine well marshalled event
Despite the weather myself, son and grandchild enjoyed it. The rain was a real downer though. Many thanks to those who put it together
