Vandals strike the Polegate Miniature Railway

The Polegate Miniature Railway, in East Sussex, has announced that they have been the next railway to suffer from vandalism.

Sometime between Sunday night and Thursday morning, vandals struck the miniature railway.

The vandals smashed through Polegate’s ticket booth window and then proceeded to throw the contents of the ticket booth around the railway site and adjoining playing field.

Most of the contents have been recovered, and the railway has made the ticket booth safe by boarding up the window.

Unfortunately, the station clock was not as lucky as some of the other contents.

This is only the second time this has happened to the railway in 20 years, so the staff are obviously upset by the vandal’s actions.

If any of our readers know anything please do contact the Police, the online reference is DP-12804-19-4747-IR – the railway is still awaiting a crime reference number.

If you would like to help the railway, there is currently two fundraising pages open.

Method 1 is a Just Giving page, set up to raise £500 for the railway, you can either click here or click the image below.

  1. Inevitably bored young people with negative intent and little respect for people or property.
Unfortunately the excusers and apologists of the chattering class will blame society for their ills.

  2. Such a shame that these morons can do this and get away with it knowing that somebody else will clear up the mess. I hope police catch them and make them do some hard graft on the railway to make some recompence!
