The Lincolnshire Coast Light Railway has announced that it is to run an extra day’s services this year – Bank Holiday Saturday, 25th May 2019.
Trains will be operated by one of the line’s fleet of heritage diesel locomotives.
Fares will remain at just £1 return (children 3 and under go free). Trains will start at 11.00 and finish at 3 pm.
Major relaying of the track, using rails sourced from a Ministry of Defence depot and former London Underground sleepers and recycled ballast has been completed.
New points have also been installed around Walls Lane station and controls such as signalling ground frames and their connections have been replaced and improved.
The line’s timetables do say that extra trains may be run when circumstances permit. This will be the first public operating day of the line’s 10th anniversary season in the Skegness Water Leisure Park.
The 2019 season will then continue with a free service for the annual Caravan Show at the Skegness Water Leisure Park on Saturday 15th June
Trains will normally run from 11.00 – 15.45 on the dates shown below, subject to the terms and conditions of the Lincolnshire Coast Light Railway Co. Ltd.
