The Mid Suffolk Light Railway has announced that they have been a delay in the arrival of Sirapite for their 2019 season.

Despite passing its recent boiler examination, the inspector has asked for extra preparation work to be completed before Sirapite is delivered to the Mid Suffolk Light Railway.

This now means that the locomotive will miss its scheduled Easter weekend steaming dates.

Sirapite’s duties will instead be performed by 110-year-old vertical boilered Belgian tram locomotive.

The good news is that Sirapite will be delivered on the 26th April.

The locomotive will be in action for the Middy’s next big weekend, Middy in the War Years 5th & 6th May.
