Steam locomotive 926 Repton is set to the visit the East Lancashire Railway in 2019.
The Schools Class is set to visit Bury for their Autumn Steam Gala, which is to be held from the 18th to the 20th October 2019.
This will be 926 Repton’s first ever visit to the East Lancashire Railway, and more visitors will be announced as the weeks go on.
926 Repton appears thanks to the North Yorkshire Moors Railway.
Repton is visiting as a thank you to the East Lancashire Railway from the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, as 34092 City of Wells is visiting the NYMR to replace 60009 Union of South Africa. More information on that available here.
About 926 Repton
Entering service in May 1934, 926 was built to haul express passenger trains on the SR. After 28 years in service, “Repton” was withdrawn from service in December 1962.
Restored in 1966, the locomotive moved to America for a number of years, before returning back to the UK.
Currently operational on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway in Maunsell’s Sage Green with 926 and “Southern” in yellow on Tender sides.
