East Midlands Trains unveils new waiting rooms at Leicester

East Midlands Trains has unveiled their new waiting rooms for rail passengers using Leicester railway station.

The train operator has invested over £150,000 to provide improved waiting facilities for customers using Leicester station.

In a first for the train operator, the waiting rooms have a free water filling station for customers.

The refurbished standard class waiting rooms, which re-opened on the 1st February 2019 are located on Platforms 1/2 and 3/4 and also feature new 32-inch departure board screens for customers to easily check their train departures.

will be giving away 500 free branded re-usable water bottles to customers at Leicester station on Monday 4 February as part of their #EMTreats campaign.

EMT is also working on the re-design of the toilets on both platforms at Leicester, with work starting towards the end of February 2019 to improve accessibility.

Rachel Rundell, Area Manager, Leicestershire for East Midlands Trains said:

“We are really looking forward to inviting our passengers in to the new look waiting rooms this week.”

“Being the first station on our network to have the water filling stations is fantastic and we look forward to seeing them in our other stations in the future.”

“We hope our customers enjoy the refurbished waiting rooms, particularly during the current spell of cold weather.”

    Has they indeed.
    East Midlands Trains is a company – a singular entity.
    I’ve noticed that BBC reporters seem incapable of grasping this basic principle of English grammar, referring to a company (or the Government, for example) with “they” and “their” rather than “it” and “its”.
    It are becoming quite irritating that others is following suit….
