The Severn Valley Railway (SVR) has announced that Great Western Railway (GWR) 14XX Class No.1450 will no longer be able to haul trains at the line’s up-coming Spring Steam.
Unfortunately, over the weekend of Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th, 1450 will be undergoing repair work, which means the tank won’t be in traffic for the gala.
This also means the SVR won’t be able to run two autotrains, as planned, during the gala.
Despite this, the Great Western branch line bonanza will still be a brilliant gala, with plenty of GWR engines (eight in total!) hauling both freight and passenger trains between Bridgnorth and Kidderminster.
The gala is also planned to see the railway’s newly-overhauled British Railways Standard Class 4 4-6-0 No.75069 running, in BR Lined Black with Late Crest.

Yes there is, it’s anonymity.
When is the delightful little 1450 going to be back in service? Will it help if we subscribe? How?
Nothing worse than people who slate people off for the way they use English.
Your journalism really does fall a little short. End of 1st sentence …spring steam. (Gala?)
Second sentence….16th & 17th of what month??!!
