LNWR Heritage has released a short update on the overhaul which is currently taking place on steam locomotive 60532 Blue Peter.
Recently, engineers have been busy with work on 70000 Britannia, 45231 The Sherwood Forester and 46100 Royal Scot so little visible progress has been made on the locomotive.
A lot of the work has been going on behind the scenes such as tracking down original drawings that will allow some of the smaller components to be manufactured.
This is now underway and the team have been able to send off some of the drawings to the pattern makers.
The wheelsets have received new tyres, and now these are awaiting profiling. However, the team have asked their suppliers to prioritise the wheelsets from 46100 Royal Scot to help ensure that locomotive is ready for the 2019Â operating season.
LNWR Heritage have also now received all of the new middle cylinder blocks. This has been delivered and is now finished and ready for installation once the frames are complete.
Focus on 60532 will return once work on 45231 and 46100 is complete.
