2018 is almost over, and what a year it has been. As we head for the start of 2019, we take a look back at where we have been in 2018.
We have visited a variety of places this year, including some new railways and have returned to a few favourites.
Part 2 will feature July – December 2018 and will follow on from Part 1 which we produced yesterday and can be viewed here.
Here are some of our favourites of 2018.
Back in the Summer, we made our first visit to the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway, the heatwave had passed, but a lovely sunny day out was had. We will be visiting here again soon for certain. The below image is available for sale on our shop too, click here to find out more.
During the summer, we also made a visit to Beamish Museum. We havent been here for years, but it was a grand day out with lots of pictures taken.
Again in the Summer, we headed to the mainline for a look at Leeds station, we took a long Facebook live and saw a class 37!
We then headed to the capital, and visited the busiest station in the UK – Clapham Junction. Plenty of trains here, and we even managed to see some freight!
Before heading back north, we managed to capture the Dennis Howells Memorial Train at Saunderton – 9466 hauled this train, a new loco for us on the mainline
Newcastle was next on our visit list. We haven’t been this far north before, so a visit to the station was a must. It’s a grand station and well worth a visit – thanks to LNER for the visitor pass.
Our final outing of the year came in December when we headed to Burnley to see 70000 Britannia haul the final Saphos Trains tour of the year.
As you can see we have had a packed year this year. We have loved every minute of it, and we can’t wait to see what 2019 is going to bring!
