Where and when to see steam locomotive 44871 in Salisbury this Tuesday

Steam locomotive 44871 will be back in steam on the mainline and will be in Woking and Salisbury on Tuesday 11th December 2018.

The Black 5 is on a special railtour tomorrow. 44871 is hauling The Sherbourne Christmas Carol on Tuesday.

The railtour departs London Victoria behind the steam locomotive at approximately 08:35 am.

The railtour will then leave London Victoria, bound for Yeovil, where it will make stops at Staines (09:33), Woking (10:06) and Winchfield (10:29) before arriving at Basingstoke at 10:51.

After around 2 minutes, the train will depart Basingstoke at 10:53, steaming through Andover (11:17), Salisbury (11:36), Gillingham (12:48), Templecombe (13:05), and Sherbourne (13:16).

The train will arrive at Yeovil Jn Down Main Sdg at 13:29.

After around 3 hours in Yeovil, 44871 will depart Yeovil at 16:40, bound for London Victoria. It will once again stop at Sherbourne (16:50) before passing through Templecombe (17:02), Gillingham (17:12) and Salisbury (18:03). It will then make a stop at Basingstoke at 19:29.

After the short break, the railtour will steam through Brookwood (20:00) and make stops at Woking (20:16), Staines 21:10) and Clapham Junction (21:54).

The railtour will arrive back at its final destination of London Victoria at 22:31.
