The Nene Valley Railway and the A1 Steam Locomotive Trust have announced that 60163 Tornado will be hauling Santa Specials in Peterborough this year.
The A1SLT has also announced that the locomotive will be spending the rest of 2018 and early 2019 at the heritage railway.
As well as the Santa Specials, the A1 locomotive will also be hauling the Mince Pie Specials, Winter Steam Specials and some Driver Experience days.
It was announced in October 2018 that 60163 Tornado would not be returning to the mainline until 2019 to allow the re-certification process to be completed to DB’s standard, before taking up its mainline tour diary as normal.
This is an excellent opportunity to have a ride behind this famous locomotive, which has been seen on BBCs Top Gear and Paddington 2.
