Google Cardboard giveaway for new Greater Anglia trains

It isn’t long now until new trains start to appear on Greater Anglia‘s network, but for people who can’t wait, there is now an opportunity to step on board virtually at Chelmsford this Friday.

The train company’s award-winning Virtual Reality roadshows are starting up again. This time though, visitors could get a special giveaway of a Google Cardboard headset which transforms a smartphone into a virtual reality headset.

There will be 200 Google cardboard headsets available free of charge at each roadshow.

The first roadshow is at Chelmsford station this Friday (30 November) from 10 am to 2 pm.

Those attending will get the chance to look round all the new types of trains that are coming to .

Other roadshows are taking place at these railway stations:

  • Ipswich, Friday 7 December, from 3 pm to 7 pm
  • Colchester, Friday 14 December, from 3 pm to 7 pm
  • Cambridge, Wednesday 19 December, from 3 pm to 7 pm
  • Norwich, Friday 21 December, from 3 pm to 7 pm
What did the officials say?

Ian McConnell, Greater Anglia Franchising and Programmes Director said:

“Our new trains are really going to transform train travel in East Anglia. The state-of-the-art features will ensure customers can travel in comfort.

“Please come along to one of the stations and have a look at what’s coming from next year.”

  1. What about coming back to Southend Victoria. For the last time. I would like to see it again. As I live near Rayleigh and I would like to go see it at Southend Victoria again. Before the new Class 720, Class 745 and Class 755 fleets are set to be introduced from Spring/Summer next year.
