Contactless payment coming to Heathrow Express

Heathrow Express has announced that from next month, passengers will be able to use Contactless payment or Oyster to travel on trains.

Contactless payment will be launched in mid-November and will be a simple way of paying for your ticket, simply touching in and out using the card readers on newly installed ticket barriers at London Paddington and Heathrow Airport.

Depending on the time that passengers travel with , you will be charged for a Peak or Off-Peak Express single meaning you’ll still find the best value fares including Express Saver Returns, advance tickets from £5.50 each way at weekends.

Passengers can also use Contactless or Oyster to travel in Business First carriages by paying to upgrade once onboard.

Travel on Heathrow Express is not included in travelcards or in weekly / monthly fare capping.

  1. Plus Elizabeth Line will also extend to Heathrow Airport which they will allow contactless cards to be used.

    Plus GTR are also allowing contactless cards to be used on Thameslink trains not just to Gatwick Airport but also to Luton Airport Parkway aswell. As Oyster PAYG & contactless cards has extended to Gatwick Airport recently.
