Rail enthusiasts have the opportunity to help two big charities this Christmas by buying a copy of a steam locomotive book by John H Bird.
The publishers have agreed that the proceeds from sales of remaining copies (around 100) of Southern Sunset 67 will be entirely donated to the British Lung Foundation and Send a Cow.
Potentially, the two charities stand a chance to receive over £1000 if the books are sold before Christmas.
The book compromises of 144 glossy pages packed with over 300 images featuring at least one photo of each SR steam locomotives that survived since 1967, together with a raft of information and a selection of photos after 1967.
Anistr.com (https://www.anistr.com/-/galleries/booksnew-gallery) who are handling distribution is making a special offer of a £2 discount for every copy sold directly from their website. This means that the Book will cost just £14.99 post free if buyers enter the coupon code EASTLEIGH at checkout. (normally £16.99)
What did they say?
The Author said
“ The first edition of the book sold out in just 3 months and the publisher is now down to the last 100 books from the second printing. I dedicated the book to my late wife who died just a few months before it was published and the ‘British Lung Foundation’ and ‘Send a Cow’ were two charities which meant a lot to her. I would love to see the money going to those two good causes.”
