The Royal Scot Locomotive & General Trust have announced that steam locomotive 70000 Britannia will return to the mainline this month following running in at the Severn Valley Railway.

The Britannia locomotive will undertake a light engine test run on the 18th October 2018 running from Kidderminster to Crewe.

Upon completion of this, the locomotive will complete her first loaded test run on the 19th of October.

70000 Britannia has been tested and run in at the Severn Valley Railway throughout September and all has been successful.

If everything goes as planned, 70000 Britannia is expected to haul Saphos Trains trips in early December where she will be hauling her first mainline passenger tours for a number of years.

Please note: all of these test runs and tours are all subject to the completion of Fitness to Run Exams. Unforeseen issues can arise and may mean it is cancelled. We will produce an article covering the test runs once these are announced.

70000 Britannia will, in the meantime, be hauling passenger trains at the Severn Valley Railway this Sunday.
