World famous locomotive Flying Scotsman will be back in steam on the mainline and will be passing through Melton Mowbray and Oakham on Monday 24th September 2018.
The A3 locomotive is on a light engine movement. 60103 is moving from the Crewe Heritage Centre, in Crewe, to the Nene Valley Railway, in Peterborough.
The movement on the national network is to allow the steam locomotive to be at the Nene Valley Railway ready for its visit to the Nene Valley Railway where it will be hauling passengers.
The locomotive will depart the Crewe Heritage Centre at 08:45 and will make its first stop at Crewe at approximately 09:01 for a two-minute break, before heading off to Stafford (at 09:03).
Steaming through Stafford (09:45), the locomotive will pass through Colwich (10:07), Lichfield Trent Valley (10:21), Burton-upon-Trent (11:00) and Loughborough (11:45) before arriving into Melton Mowbray at 12:15.
From Melton Mowbray, 60103 will head via Oakham (13:03) and Peterborough (13:34) before arriving into Orton Mere at 13:47.
