Greater Anglia staff take leap of faith for charity

Greater Anglia has announced that some staff members will be taking a leap of faith today in the name of charity by launching themselves from the highest rooftop helipad in Europe.

The team of 20 have pledged £6,000 for the London Air Ambulance when they descend from the Helipad of The Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel. The hospital has 17 floors.

The staff, made up of drivers, depot and office staff, have just £1500 to go to meet their target.

The team’s efforts so far include holding a bake sale at Ilford Depot, raffles and receiving a donation from .

What did the officials say?

Greater Anglia’s Health, Safety and Environment Manager, Jane McIntyre, who has spearheaded the fundraiser, said:

“Half the team are terrified but this is such a worthwhile cause and needs all the help and support to continue to operate. This is our way of saying thank you to everyone involved with the London Air Ambulance for the amazing, lifesaving work they do.”
