The Dartmoor Railway Association has announced that they will be featuring in a new series on Channel 5.
One episode of Channel 5’s ‘Walking Britain’s Lost Railway’ series is about the Dartmoor Railway. It is being broadcast on Friday, October 5th at 9 pm.
The series is presented by Rob Bell and looks at some of the railway lines that have unfortunately been closed – and some that you can walk on the trackbed
The full schedule for the series is
- Scotland – Friday 21st September
- Sheffield – Friday 28th September
- Dartmoor – Friday 5th October
- Lake District – Friday 12th October
- Somerset & Dorset – Friday 19th October
- Wales – Friday 26th October
This, along with Paddington 24/7 – also on Channel 5 (Mondays at 9pm), is a welcome sight and means our hobby is on national tv for everyone to see and get involved with.

your excellent programme is spoilt by far to many long advert breaks , the walk from bere alstone to okehampton was really excellant
Wish Inside Kings Cross came back on Channel 5. Which should happen when the introduction of the LNER Class 800 & Class 801 does start service.
Channel 5 should do other London terminus stations including Euston, Waterloo, Liverpool Street, Marylebone, Victoria, St. Pancras International, Fenchurch Street, London Bridge, Cannon Street and Charing Cross. And perhaps do a live TV show at other stations outside of London including at Manchester Piccadilly, Manchester Victoria, Leeds, Birmingham New Street, Birmingham Snow Hill, Birmingham Moor Street, Birmingham International, Liverpool Lime Street, York, Edinburgh Waverley, Hull,
Glasgow Central, Glasgow Queen Street and other major railway stations in the UK be shown live on telly. Including filming the staff, trains, train crew, passengers and many more.
We could finally have something decent on TV then Andrew. 😀
