Where and when to see steam locomotive No.60009 Union of South Africa in London and Weymouth tomorrow

Steam locomotive No.60009 Union of South Africa will be back in steam on the mainline and will be in London and Southampton on Tuesday 14th August 2018.

The A4 locomotive is on a special rail tour from London Victoria to Weymouth.

The steam locomotive will be assisted by a diesel locomotive due to the hot weather fire risk, will depart the London Victoria at approximately 08:45 am.

The railtour will then leave the London Victoria, bound for Weymouth, where it will steam through Clapham Junction (09:01), Brentford (09:15), Hounslow (09:21) and Feltham (09:25) before stopping at Staines at 09:31.

After a 2-minute break, the locomotive will depart Staines for Weymouth, where it will make stops at Woking (10:03), Winchfield (10:28) and Basingstoke (10:52), after steaming through Eastleigh (11:34), it will make a stop at Southampton at 11:52.

Departing Southampton Central at 11:55, the tour will make two final stops at Beaulieu Road (12:12) and Bournemouth (12:49) before steaming through Wareham (13:11) and Dorchester South (13:30) before arriving at Weymouth at 13:41.

On the return journey, 60009 Union of South Africa will depart Weymouth at 16:40 where it will then steam through Wareham (17:13) and Poole (17:38) before stopping at Bournemouth at 17:46.

Departing Bournemouth at 17:49, the train will make the same route back to London Victoria. The train will make stops at Southampton Central (18:21), Basingstoke (19:52), Brookwood (20:28), Woking (20:46) and Staines (21:16) before arriving back into London Victoria at 22:05.
