Southeastern has announced that it has completed a three-year refurb project to benefit more than 600,000 passengers.
Southeastern has completed its £30 million project with Eversholt Rail and Bombardier to the Class 375 fleet of trains, which are approaching their 15th year of operation.
Teams of engineers have been working to update Southeastern’s rolling stock to improve passenger journeys. Each train required 3 weeks of work by 35 employees in Derby.
As part of the refurb work, 83,000 seat covers were dry cleaned, 20,500 litres of paint applied, and 7 miles of carpet was replaced.
Southeastern train carriages are cleaned every night. However, the new refurbed trains have set a new benchmark. So to meet this benchmark, by the end of the year, all of Southeastern’s trains will have received a deep clean by Servest.

David Statham, Managing Director of Southeastern, says:
“Our 625,000 daily passengers deserve the highest levels of comfort and that’s why our trains have been renovated. We are very proud of our teams who have worked incredibly hard over the past three years to ensure trains have been refurbished to the highest standards.”

What about refurbishing and applying new livery on the Class 376, Class 465 and Class 466 which will look like the Class 375 and Class 395 that are already in a new blue livery.
